Mirande de Jong, The Netherlands / Coordinator TV/Video Fiction

‘Public Service Media exist to provide a diverse and broad audience with quality in all aspects. It is all about striving for excellence and impact in content as much as in form. High value productions for the many are an opportunity to entertain and at the same time give new insights or twitch the general point of view on a certain issue. Niche productions give space to experiments, innovation and the representation of the few. This sounds solemn, but it is also fun and gratifying.’

Since the early 90s I have been working as a script editor at the Dutch public broadcaster BNNVARA, on a wide range of TV drama series and feature films, from comedy series and format drama for a broad audience to smaller arthouse productions. Several received a mention at PRIX EUROPA. The common denominator of all these productions is an eye for the unknown, unattended or underestimated.
