Manuel Thalmann, Switzerland / Coordinator Digital Media Projects

‘It has to be our absolute goal as public broadcasters – especially with all the competition we face in today’s  media world – to always produce the highest quality. Not only when it comes to journalistic content but also, when it comes to the production value. Our competition today often is not a small private media outlet in our countries anymore, but the big, well-funded international players that take users away from the content we as public broadcasters produce. Let’s be excellent in all aspects of the content that we distribute!’

After starting his career for a Music Television Station in Switzerland and then working as a producer for different Local Radio and TV Stations, Manuel has been working for the young audience department of SRF – Swiss Radio and Television for the past 8 years. With his department he is responsible for bringing a young  audience back to the public broadcaster. He has been producing Radio, TV and digital formats for the past 15 years. The last three years he has overseen the youth and music department at SRF –  producing with his team content for young people as well as journalistic music formats for all platforms.

Manuel Thalmann coordinates the Digital Media Projects Category together with Tomas Lindh and Kåre V. Poulsen.
